AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF BEECHDALE ROAD. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Industrial Development Authority has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the herein- after described portion of Beechdale Road; and WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted October 12, 1982, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said Beechdale Road and to report~in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what in- convenience would result from the discontinuing of said street; and ~EREAS, the said viewers have rsported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter described portion of Beechdale Road be closed and vacated as a public street. BEECKDALE ROAD Beginning at the southeast intersection of Beeckdale Road and Gust Lane; thence north- easterly along the south right-of-way, of Beech- dale Road 1,255 feet, more or less, to a point; thence westerly 50 feet %o the north right-of- way of Beechdale Road; thence southwesterly along said right-of-way 995 feet, more or less, to the east right-of-way of Gust Lane; thence southwesterly along the east right-of-way of Gust Lane 50 feet to the south right-of-way of Beechdale Road, the point of origin. (S-82-10} BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth re- serves unto itself a perpetual easement, right and privilege, to install, maintain, operate and replace gas mains, sewer mains~ sewer drains, sanitary sewers, storm drains, water mains and laterals, electric power lines and telephone lines over, under and across the hereinabove-described portion of Beechdale Road.
