AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 35-2 AND 35-3, PERTAINING TO PAYMENT OF AD~V~INISTRATIVE COSTS FOR THE COLLECTION OF DELINQUENT REAL ESTATE A1ND PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES, RESPECTIVELY. BE I? ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: !. That Section 35-2 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia~ be amended and reordainsd by adding paragraph (d) to read as follows: Section 35-2. Date real estate tax payable; penalty for non-payment; deferment of payment; payment of administrative costs. (d) There is here~y imposed a fee to cover the adminis- trative costs associated with the collection of delinquent taxes. Such fee shall be in addition to all penalties and interest, and shall be ten dollars ($10.00) for taxes collect- ed subsequent %o the filing of a warrant or other appropriate legal document, but prior to judgment, and fifteen dollars ($15.00) for taxes collected subsequent to judgment. 2. ~hat Section 35-3 of the Code of the City Virginia, 1973, be amended and reordained by adding to read as follows: of Portsmouth, paragraph (d) Section 35-3, ~te personal property tax payable; interest for non-payment; penalty for non-payment; payment of administrative costs.
