AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 40-93 THEREOF, PERTAINING <br />TO THE DESIGNATION OF PORT NORFOLK AS A HISTORIC DISTRICT. <br /> <br /> BE iT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 40-93 of the Code of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, 1973, be ~mended and reordained to rea'd as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 40-93. Districts created; boundaries of district. <br /> <br /> In order to execute the purposes and objectives declared <br />in Section 40-92, there is hereby created in the City, a <br />district to be knoara as the "Historic District". The boundaries <br />of %~hich shall be filed and maintained in the same manner re- <br />quired by Section 40-18 of this Chapter, for other zoning maps. <br />The terms "Olde Towne" and "Cradock'~ are found in the National <br />Register of Historic Places and referred to in the Zoning <br />Ordinance Maps. The term "Towne Square Historic District" is <br />found on the document referred to as "PHD-77-2", dated June, 1977 <br />as adopted by the Council. The term "Truxtun Historic District <br />1918" Ss found on the document "PHD-79-1'' as a~opted by a <br />Resolution of the City Council on August 13, 1979. The term <br />"Port Norfolk Historic District" is found on the document <br />"PHD-83-1" as adopted by the City Council on April 26, 1983. <br /> <br /> 2.
