(b) The Committee shall consist of seven (7) members <br />to be appointed by City Council for a term of five years <br />from the date of such appointment. Of members appointed, <br />one s~ali befrom the PortsmoUth Downtown Merchants Association, <br />one shall be from the Portsmouth Chamber of C6mmerce and two <br />shall be a citizen resident in the district. The remaining <br />three members shall be members of the city staff recommended <br />by the City Manager. A vacancy occurring in the membership <br />of the committee for any cause shall be filled for the un- <br />expired term by the City Council from the orga~izatlon which <br />th~ member caused such vacancy represented. M~mbers of the <br />committee shall serve without compensation. <br /> <br /> Cc) The committee shall implement the purpose and <br />objectives of the "Priority Action Program for Central Portsmouth", <br />hereinafter referred to as "The Plan" through the design guide- <br />lines and issuance of certificates of intent~and compliance. <br /> <br /> ~d) The committee shall meet as and when called upon by <br />the chairman or by at least two (2) members of the committee. <br /> <br /> ge) The committee shall appoint a chairman, vice chairman, <br />and a secretary who shall be an officer or employee of the <br />City, and he or she shall keep record of all resolutions, pro- <br />ceedings and action of the committee. <br /> <br /> (f) The committee may employ a consultant and seek advice <br />from any City departments as it deems it necessary. <br /> <br />Section 40-121. Downtown D-1 District Uses. <br /> <br /> (a) The Downtown D-1 District is divided into six sub- <br />sections shown on the zoning map. The following uses, therefore, <br />may be allowed upon the granting of a certificate of intent <br />as provided in Section 48-122. <br /> <br />(i) Sub-area known as Mixed Uses. <br /> <br />- Ail the uses listed in Section 40-72(a) Com- <br /> mercial C-3 District Subsections; <br /> <br />- Art studios; <br /> <br />Child day care centers, nurseries, and kinder- <br />gartens; <br /> <br />Co,mercia! and/or governmental radio and <br />television masts and associated transmission <br />facility; <br /> <br />- Convalescent and nursing homes and homes for <br /> the care of children; <br /> <br />- Craft shops, workshops where hand tools are <br /> used; <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
