Section 37-24. Type of taxicab required. <br /> <br /> Taxicabs shall be of the enclosed or sedan type or <br />station wagon with at least four (4) doors and no% less <br />than five (5) passenger capacity. <br /> <br />Section 37-25. identification of taxicab. <br /> <br /> Ail taxicabs operating in this City under this Cha~ter <br />shall have the word "taxlcab~' or ~taxi" or "cab", the name <br />of the owner; and the number of the certificate of public conven- <br />ience and necessity pursuant to which the taxicab is operated <br />plainly lettered thereon. <br /> <br />Section 37-29. Fee for parking privilege; nonpayment. <br /> <br /> Any person holding a certificate of public convenience <br />and necessity under this Article shall pay to the City for <br />each taxicab owned or operated by him for parking privileges <br />on the streets of the City in a designated parking area, the <br />sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100) Der annum where such area <br />is located in the zone set apart for parking meters in the <br />City, and the s-~7~ of One Hundred Dollars ($100) per annum <br />where the parking area is not located in the parking meter <br />zone. Any person who shall operate a taxicab within the City <br />without first paying said parking fee shall have such cert- <br />ificate revoked, and, in addition thereto, shall be subject to <br />punishment for a violation of this Chapter. <br /> <br />Section 37-38. Transportation of alcoholic beverages. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to use any taxicab <br />operated pursuant to this Article to transport alcoholic <br />beverages~ except when carried in the possession of a passen- <br />ger who is being transported for compensation at the regular <br />rate charged other passengers. Any person who violates or <br />fails to comply with the provisions of this ordinance shall <br />be guilty of a Class 1 Misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Section 37-39. <br /> <br />Drivers bearing evidence of intoxicating <br />beverages. <br /> <br /> No owner or operator of a taxicab shall permit any driver <br />to work if he reports for duty with any evidence of intoxi- <br />catimg beverages on his person or upon his breath. Any person <br />who violates or fails to comply with the provisions of this <br />ordinance shall be guilty of a Class 1 Misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Section 37-50. Examination; furnishing of information. <br /> <br /> Ail applicants for certificates of public convenience <br />and necessity~ required by this division, shall undergo an <br />examination satisfactory to the City Manager or his duly <br />authorized agent as to his qualifications and as to his <br />knowledge of the traffic laws and ordinances of the State <br />and the City, shall furnish such information as m~ be <br /> <br /> <br />
