WHEREAS, Rear Admiral William H0 Leahy is completing a two <br />year tour of duty as Commander of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Por~s- <br />mouth, Virginia; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ Admiral Leahy has not only discharged his naval duties <br />so as to reflect honor upon and confidence in the naval service, but <br />also has entered into the religious, civic and social activities of this <br />area, thereby fostering improved relations between the military and <br />civilian population. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that Rear Admiral William Ho Leahy be and he hereby <br />is commended upon completion of his ~our of duty as Commander, Norfolk <br />Naval Shipyard, and the sense of the people of this City be expressed as <br />according to him a warm and deserved "well done" <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be forwarded <br />~o the Secretary of the Navy, Navy Department, Washington, Do C., the <br />Honorable Harry F. Byrd and the Honorable A.
