~ESOLUTION Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia in regular meeting assembled, that the Mayor oi said City be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into an agreement with the ATlANTiC CC~tST LINE RAILROAD C~MPANY, and to sign sams on behalf of said City, whereby the said Railroad C~mpany grants unto said City the right or license to olean out, improve and maintain the Railroad Company's ditch as now lo- cated along the northeasterly portion of the Railroad Company's right of way at Portsmouth, Virginia, said ditch beginning au a point 2~505 feet south- eastwardly, measured along the cen~er line of the Railroad Company's _main track from Mile Post B-231, and 20 feet, more or less, northeastwardly, measured at right angles from said center line; running thence southeasr- wardly parallel to said center line 145 feet, more or less; together with the right and privilege to dig andm~intain a ditch at either end of the above mentioned ditch; said ditches to extent northeastwardty 30 feet, more or less, to the northeastern boundary line of the right of way of the Pail- road Company's main track, which right of way is 50 feet wide on each side of the center lins oI said main track; together also with the righ~ and prLvi- iege to maintain the Railroad Company's 18-inch cast iron pipe across the right of way and under said n~in track at the northwestern end of the first described ditch; as more particularly described in said agreement, which agree- men~ is dated October 19, 1961~ a copy of which agreement is filed with this City Council.
