Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that it is necessary for the City to acquire fee simple title in and to the following described tract of land situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, for use as the site of a sanitary landfill, the record title to said property being in the name of Nathaniel Brown: A parcel of laud containing one acre, bounded on the northeast by Lincoln Street, now Ponderosa Street; on the northwest by a twenty (20) foot rcuad; on the southwest by the property shown on the plat of Hod~es and Grice, a copy of which is recorded in the ~lerk's Office of the Circuit Court of Norfolk County, Virginia, in Deed Book 1114, page 310; and on the southeast by property now or formerly in the name of Tarra Corporation; it being the same property conveyed to the said Nathaniel Brown by deed of Geoo W. F~uth and Israel Ketcham, dated March 28, 1895, and duly recorded in the Clerk's Office last aforesaid in Deed Book 193, p~ge 226, Be it further resolved that the City Attorney is authorized and in- structed to institute condemnation proceedings to acquire the aforesaid pro- perty for the purposes of the City, This is to certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copp of resolution adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at meetin¢ held March 27, 1962, Teste: City Clerk.
