EESOLIIfION ENDORSING THE SOOTHEASTEBN TIDEWATER <br />OPPOrtUNITY PRGIES~' (A NON-STOCK CORPORATION) AS <br />~ CO~,~JNITY ACTION AGENCY FOR THE CITY OF <br />PORTSBI)UI~ · <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this body has previously recognized the need for au <br />area-wide approach to t~m problem of poverty in the Southeastern <br />Tidewater area, and more specifically in this cc~m~ity, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Health~elfare-Recroation Planning Council Of <br />Norfolk, Virginia had previously been endorsed as the Comuuuity Action <br />Agency representing this co.unity and the other member communities of <br />the Southeastern Tidewater area with authority~ to act in their behalf <br />with the appropriate government agencies, and <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, in implementing this charge, the Health-Welfare- <br /> Recreation Planning Council of Norfolk formed a separate body known <br /> as the Southeastern Tidewater Opportunity Project, with au independent <br /> Steering Com~ttee, v~nich body was to act ~in its place and as its <br /> designee as the Conm~ty Action Agency for the Southeastern Tidewater, <br /> Virginia area, and <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, this group was charged with the development of a <br /> Community Action organization to cmmbat poverty on a per~uent basis <br /> in the said area, and <br /> <br /> k~EREAS, the said Steering Cc~ttee, representing each <br /> <br /> me~r cc~n~nity of the Southeastern TidewsDer Opportunity Project has <br /> unauimo~ly passed a resolution directing that the Southeastern Tidewater <br /> <br /> Opport~mity Pro~ ,nOn-profit organization <br /> under the la~s of the <br /> <br /> <br />
