ordinance was proposed, the ordinance shall become effective in its pro- <br />posed awended form if such ~ajority vote is cast in favor thereof, but <br />if not such ordinance shall remain effective in the fo~m as enacted by <br />the council. <br /> <br /> Petitions hereunder shall conform substantially to the require- <br />ments of section one of this chapter as to signatua~es, verification and <br />authentication, and the presentation, pres~tion of sufficiency~ snd <br />s~uary review thereof~ shall be as ?rovided in said section. <br /> C~API~R X. S~CTI~ 3. ~,fnenever an ordinance is require~ under <br />section one or ~wo of this chapter to be submitted for adoption, modi- <br />fication or reL~al~ to t~he electors of the city at any election, the <br />co~cii shall cause t~ ordnance ~o ~e printed, and it shall be the duty <br />of the city clerk to encZose a printed copz~ thereof in an envelope with <br />a sample ballot, ~nd n~il the same to each qualified voter at least five <br />(5) days prior to the election. The failure on the part of any voter to <br />receive or to be sent such copy and ballot shall not affect the validity <br />of the election.
