A RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE FOR THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN <br />PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH UNDER EMINENT DOMAIN <br />PROCEEDINGS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 229 OF THE ACTS OF ASSEMBLY <br />OF 1966, SAID PROPERTY BEING NECESSARY TO PROVIDE A PART OF <br />THE SITE OF A RECREATIONAL FACILITY KNOWN AS WESTHAVEN BALL <br />FIELD° <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth is constructing <br /> <br />facility known as Westhaven Ball Field, with <br /> <br />recreational <br /> <br />the required filling, grading, lights, backstops, etc.; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth <br /> <br />of the property necessary for the site of <br /> <br />has acquired all <br /> <br />said recreational <br /> <br />facility except that which is described herein, and substan- <br /> <br />tial parts of the work <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the <br /> <br />involved have already been accomplished; <br /> <br />City of Portsmouth has not been able <br /> <br />the property described herein, because the owners <br />unable to convey legal title to such property, <br />the owners thereof may be unknown persons who <br />reasonable diligence be found within the State <br /> <br />to purchase <br />thereof are <br />and some of <br />cannot with <br />of Virginia; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />the said recreational <br />if the said property <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />advancement of the work and occupancy of <br /> <br /> facility will be delayed unreasonably <br /> is not made available as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> the Council of <br /> <br /> <br />
