~fHEREAS, Section 33-136.1 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, <br />authorizes the State Highway Conmmission to participate in the cost <br />of construction of industrial access roads; and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, the City of Ports=outh intends to construct an <br />industrial access read along the north side of Interstate 264 from <br />Victory Boulevard to Airline Boulevard (Route 58) in the vicinity <br />of its intersection with Greenwood Drive; and <br /> <br /> V[~P~EAS, the City is willing to do what is necessary on <br /> <br />its part to construct the said industrial access road. <br /> <br /> NOW, ~HEREFORE, BE IT F~SOLVED by the Cotuucil of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the .State H'~lghway Cc~mission is requested <br />to participate in the construction of an industrial access road, pur- <br />suant to section 33-136.1 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, w.hich said <br />road will be located along the north side of Interstate 264 frcm <br />Victory Boulevard to Airline Boulevard (Route 58) in the vicinity of <br />its intersection with Greenwood Drive. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ~ESOLVED, that the City of Portsmouth agrees: <br /> 1. to acquire the necessary right of way by donation or <br /> by pt~rchase using fur~s, other than industrial access <br /> funds, available to it frmm its general revenues; <br /> <br /> 2. to adjust any utilities located ~rit~in the proposed <br /> right of way at no cost to the state; and <br /> <br /> 3. ~o reconstruct, ~intain and improve the proposed <br /> industrial access road after the same .has ~een constructed, <br /> in the s~me manner as other streets and roads in the City <br /> are reconstructed, maintained and improved. <br /> <br /> <br />
