WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth sntered into a certain Port <br /> Facility Contract, dated June 1, 1966, with the Virginia State Ports <br /> Authority for the construction of a marine ter~mir~al at Pinners Point <br /> in the City of Portsmouth; and <br /> <br /> ~, it has since been determined that certain changes in <br /> the proposed construction are desired to insure greater Flexibility of <br /> the Portsmouth Marine Terminal to handle general cargo and to provide <br /> for the specific needs of certain prospective users; and <br /> <br /> WH~, it is currently estimated that' these desired changes <br /> will increase the estimated cost of the facility by $2,000,000.00. <br /> <br /> NOW, TH~RE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Vir~nia~ that the proposed change is hereby approved and <br />the City Manager and City Clerk are h~reby authorized and directed to do <br />all things necessary in the name of and on behalf of the City of Portsmouth <br />to execute the change order or change orders to the prime contract or <br />contracts to effec~ the changes in the plans and specificatibns for the <br />Portsmouth M~rine ~erminal and ~o execute accordingly an amendment to <br />the Port Facility Contract, dated June 1, 196~ ~ between the City of <br />Portsmouth and the Virginia State Ports Authority. <br /> <br /> BE IT FJR~q~R RESOLVED that the City of Portsmouth will assume <br />the entire cost of such changes if State funds are not available to bear <br />a portion of the cost of same. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ Virginia, <br /> <br />at a meeting held February 9, 1967. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
