A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING T~ CONSTRUCTION OF A SIDEWALK ALONG <br />THE EAST SIDE OF TH~ t000 BLOCK OF CITY PARK AVENUE BETWEEN <br />PORTSMOUI~ BOULEVARD AND DUNEDIN ROAD, k~HERE STAk~DARD SIDE- <br />WALKS DO NOT NOW EXIST, THE COST THEREOF TO BE ASSESSED AND <br />APPORTIOh~D BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE ABUTTING LANDOWNERS, AND <br />DIRECTING THAT AN ABSTRACT OF THIS RESOLUTION BE HECORDED <br />T06ETHER WITH A STA~EMERT SHO~Ik~G THE ESTImaTED AMOUNT THAT <br />WTLL BE ASSESSED AGAINST EACH SUCH LANDOW~R. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by petition submitted.in accordance with law certain <br />abutting lando~aaers have petitioned the City of Portsmouth to construct <br />a sidewalk along the east side of the 1000 block of City Park Avenue <br />between Portsmouth Boulevard and Dunedin Road, where standard side- <br />walks do not now exist, the cost thereof to be assessed and apportioned <br />between the City and the abutting landowners; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice bas been duly given to the abutting landowners, <br />as provided by law, that a hearing would be held before the Council <br />of the City of Portsmouth on October 1, 1968, at 7:30 P.M. in the <br />Council Chambers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said hearing was duly held and in the Judgment of the <br />-Council the said sidewalk shotuld be constructed. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth: <br /> <br /> Section 1: ~nat the construction of a sidewalk along the east <br />side of the 1000 block of City Park Avenue between Portsmouth Boule- <br />vard and Dunedin Road, where standard sidevalks do not now exist, is <br />hereby authorized. <br /> <br /> Section 2: That the cost of constructing said sidewalk, when <br />the same shall have been ascertained shall be apportioned by the City <br />Assessor between the City of Portsmouth and the abutting landovmers, <br />an~ assessed against said abut~ting' landowners, as provided by law. <br /> <br /> Section 3: That the City Clerk shall forthwith cause to be <br />recorded an abstract of this resolution, together with a statement <br />showing the ownership and location of the property to be affected <br />by the proposed sidewalk and the estimated amount that will be <br />assessed against each abutting landowner in accordance ~th the <br />statement thereof on file in her office. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of ~he City of Portsmouth at a meeting <br />held October l, 1968. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
