~ RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE ORDER OF SUCCESSION TO THE <br />POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE OFFICE OF CITY MANAGER IN CASE <br />OF ~ DISABILITY OF ~ CITY MANAGER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the charter of the City of Portsmouth authorizes <br />the Cotu~cil to designate who shall succeed to the powers and <br />duties of the office of City Manager if the City ~muager is <br />unable to perform the duties of his office by reason of sick- <br />ness, absence, vacation or other disability; and <br /> <br /> WHEP~AS, it is considered desirable to provide for the <br />orderly succession to the office of City Manager. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREF~RE~ BE I~RESOLVEDby~he Council Df the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that in the event of the inability of <br />the City Manager to perform the duties of ~is office by reason <br />of sickness, absence, vacation or othe~ disability, the duties <br />bf said office shall be perfor~ned'by th~ Assistant to the City <br />Manager, and in the event that both the~City Manager and the <br />Assistant to the City Manager are unable to perform such duties, <br />then the City Attorney shall perform the duties of the City <br />Manager, <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held on July 23, 1968. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
