WHERE&S, by ordinance of the City Council of the City of Ports- mouth adopted on January 13, 1970, a portion of Glasgow Street South of aud adjacent to Oak Grove Cemetery was duly closed and vacated. As a consequence of such closure, the northern half of such portion reverted to the exclusive ownership of the City of Portsmouth; and WHEREAS, Portsmouth ,Redevelopment and Housing Authority requires ownership of said northern portlon of Glasgow Street (closed) for urban re- development purposes and has requested the City to convey the same. NOW, THEBEFORE, BE IT BESOLVE~ bY the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City M~nager be and is hereby authorized and dLrected to execute a deed conveying to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority that portion of Glasgow Street (closed) described as · follows: Begir~ at the northeast corner of Peninsula Avenue and Glasgow Street (closed), which point is also on the northern right of way line of Rt. 58 (London- Glasgow Street); thence r~ South 8~°32'12'' East along the southern cemetery wall and, coincidentally, the northern right of way line Of Glasgow Street (closed) 599.54 feet to a point; thence continuing along said southern cemetery wall and northern right of way line of Glasgow Street (closed) South 87°48'13'' East 541.70 feet to the eastern wail of the cemetery; thence running South 2°ll'~?'' West 17.00 feet to the centerline of Glasgow Street (closed); thence running North 87°48'13TM West along the centerline of Glasgow Street (closed) 541.70 feet to a point where the ~ldth of Glasgow Street (closed) begir~ to increase-from 34 feet to 46 feet; thence ~ar~ along said centerline North 85°~1'26'~ West 160.99 feet to a point mtere the width of Glasgow Street (closed) becomes 46 feet; thence along said centerline North 83°32'12'' Wesv 350.47 feet to the intersection of said centerline and the northern right of way line of Rt. 58 (Lotion- Glasgow Street); thence northwesterly alorg a cu~¢e to the left the radius of which is 2,870.02 feet (~nich defines the northern boundary of ~. 58) a ~distauce of 92.37 feet to the point of beginning.
