22 A R~SOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT FOR THE OPERATION OF AN ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION STA- TION NEAR THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF DUKE STREET AND LA~L~ AVENUE. WHEREAS, Virginia Electric & Power Company has made application pursuant to Section 4-2 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done all things required to be done in connection with said ap- plication, and the Planning Commission has recommended the grant- ing of said use permit, subject to the conditions hereinafter stated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: A. That the use for which the use ~permit hereinafter described is sought (1) will not adversely affect the health or safety of persons residing or working in the neighborhood of the proposed use, (2) will not be detrimsntal to the public welfare or injurious to property or improvements in th~ neighborhood, and (3) will be in accord with the purposes of said Zoning Ordinance. B. That Virginia Electric & Power Company is hereby granted a u~e permit subject to site plan restrictions, pursuant to Section 4-2 of said Zoning Ordinance for the operation of an electric distribution station located on property described as follows: Beginning at a point on the eastern right of way line of LaSalle A=enue 262 feet, more or less northerly from the intersection of Duke Street and LaSalle Avenue; thence running northerly alQng said eastern right of way line 92 feet, more or less to a point; thence run- ning easterly 100 feet, more or less to a point; thence running southerly 92 feet, more or less to a point; thence running westerly i00 feet, more or less =o tbs point of begin- ning.
