A RESOLUTION DESIGNATI~ THE ORDER OF SUCCESSION TO THE PO~ERS <br />AND DUTIES OF THE OFFICE OF CITY U~NAGER IN CASE OF THE DIS- <br />ABILITY OF THE CITY ~-tA~AGER. <br /> <br /> %~EREAS, the charter of the City of Portsmouth authorizes <br />the Council to designate who shall succeed to the powers and duties <br />of the office of City Manager if the City Manager ms unable to per- <br />form the duties of his office by reason of sickness, absence, vaca- <br />tion or other disability; and <br /> <br /> I~{EREAS, it is considered desirable to provide for the <br />orderly succession to the office of City Manager. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that in the event of the inability of the <br />City i~anacer to perform the duties of his office by reason of sick- <br />ness, absence, vacation or other disability, the duties of said <br />office shall be performed by the Assistant to the City ~lanager, <br />and in the event that both the City Manager and the Assistant to <br />the City ~anager are unable to perform such duties, then the City <br />Attorney shall perform the duties of the City Manager. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, at a meeting held July 25, 1972. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
