A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A PLANI.]ED USE REPORT FOR GENEP~AL REVENUE SF_ARING FUNDS FOR ENTITLEMENT PERIOD III (JAI{UARY t, 1973 TO JU~E 30, 1973) AND DIRECTING CERTAIN ACTIOI'[S BE TAKEN WITH RE' GA-RD TO SAID REPORT. ~THEREAS, Federal regulations require that a Planned Use Report detailing the expenditures of ceneral revenue sharing ~ of the funds DY submitte~ to the Secretary of the Department Treasury; and %%~qEREAS, such a Planned Use Report has been drafted and is attached hereto; and ~,~{EREAS, said Planned Use Report for Entitlement Period III designates the following expenditures: ~apital Exg. gnditures Operating/Maintenance Expenditures Sa=ety $388,743.00 Public ~ Multipurpose and General GoverD~ent Public Safety Others $250,000.00 $ 75,000.00 $637~468.00 For a total of $1,35t~2!i.00; and ?~{EREAS, Federal regulations further specify that the City Manager certify that no entitlement funds have been used in · ~. ~ .~ ' ' ' ~ '~ the use of entit!emen~ funds vlola~lon o~ ~ne prohlb!tton for the purpose of obtaining matching Federal funds; and %~TiEREAS~ Federal regulations further specify that a public hearing be held with regard to the use of said general revenue sharing funds; and I.~iEREAS, Federal regulations further specify that a copy of each said Planned.Use Report be advertised in a newspaper of general circulation within the City of Portsmouth and that the news a~v media within this City and general area be "ised of the publica- tion of said Planned Use Report and that said Planned Use'Report be made available for public inspection at the City Clerk's Office ~uring normal business hours. NOW, THEREFORE, EE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that it does hereby ratify and adopt the Planned Use Reporm as attached hereto and the expenditure of funds as detailed in said report for Entitlement Period Iii (January i, 1973 to June 30, 1973), an~ that said report be forwarded by the
