be approved. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />Section t. That the aforementioned Amer~h~..ent ~o. t to the Conserva- <br />tion Plan for the Park View Conservation Project, Va. R-48, Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, redesignated under this amendment to be hereinafter <br />called the Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Park View <br />Conservation and Redevelopment Project, Va. R-48, having been duly <br />reviewed and considered, it is hereby found: <br /> <br />That th~ objectives of the Park View Con- <br />servation Project, Va. R-48, Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, can be better achieved by the <br />adoption of said Amendment to the Plan. <br /> <br />That the said Amendment No. 1 for the project <br />area conforms to the General Plan for the City <br />of Portsmouth as a whole. <br /> <br />Ce <br /> <br />That it is hereby found and determined that <br />Amendment No. i to said Plan wi!l afford <br />maximum opportunity, consistent with the <br />needs of the .City as a whole, for the con- <br />servation of existing homes, and the partial <br />redevelopment of the area by private, enter- <br />prise for residential reuse. <br /> <br />That it is hereby found and determined that <br />the proposed redevelopment areas are blighted,- <br />deteriorated, or deteriorating and qualify <br />as an eligible Project area under'Section <br />36-49 and 36-49.1, e~.t seq., of the~ Code of <br />Virginia (1950) as amended, and' under Title <br />I of the Housing Act of 1949 as amended. <br /> <br />That it is hereby found and determined that <br />the Plan gives due consideration to the pro- <br />vision of adequate park and recreational <br />areas and facilities, as may be desirable for <br />neighborhood L~provement, with special con- <br />sideration for the health, safety, and welfare <br />of children residing in the vicinity of the <br />site covered by the Plan. <br /> <br />fe <br /> <br />That it is hereby found and determined that <br />the program for the proper relocation of in- <br />dividuals and families displaced in carrying <br />out the Project is feasible and can be reason- <br /> <br /> <br />
