A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SIDEWALK ALONG <br />THE NORTH SIDE OF THE 3300 BLOCK OF GLASGOW STREET BETWEEN <br />POTOMAC AVENUE AND CAMBRIDGE AVENUE, WHERE STANDARD SIDEWALKS <br />DO NOT NOW EXIST, THE COST THEREOF TO BE APPORTIONED BETWEEN <br />THE CITY AND THE ABUTTING LANDOWNERS, AND DIRECTING THAT AN <br />ABSTRACT OF THIS RESOLUTION BE RECORDED TOGETHER W~H A STATE- <br />MENT SHOWING THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT THAT WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST <br />EACH SUCH LANDOWNER. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS; by petition submitted in accordance with <br />law certain abutting landowners have petitioned the City of <br />Portsmouth to construct a sidewalk along the north side of <br />the 3300 block of Glasgow Street between Potomac Avenue and <br />Cambridge Avenue, where standard sidewalks do not now exist, <br />the cost thereof to be apportioned between the City and the <br />abutting landowners; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS; notice has been duly given to the abutting <br />landowners, as provided by law, that a hearing would be held <br />before the Council of the City of Portsmouth on August 14, <br />1973, at 7:30 P. M., in the Council Chambers; and <br /> WHEREAS; said hearing has been duly held and in the <br /> judgment of the Council the said sidewalk should be constructed. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br /> City of Portsmouth: <br /> <br /> Section 1: That the construction of a sidewalk <br /> along the north side of the 3300 block of Glasgow Street be- <br /> tween Potomac Avenue and Cambridge Avenue, where standard <br /> sidewalks do not now exist, is hereby authorized. <br /> <br /> Section 2: That the cost of constructing said side- <br /> walk, when the same shall have been ascertained, shall be <br /> apportioned by the City Assessor between the City of Portsmouth <br /> and the abutting landowners, and assessed against said abutting <br /> landowners, as provided by law. <br /> <br /> Section 3: That the City Clerk shall forthwith <br /> cause to be recorded an abstract of this resolution, together <br /> with a statement showing the ownership and location of the <br /> property to be affected by the proposed sidewalk and the <br /> estimated amount that will be assessed against each abutting <br /> landowner in accordance with the statement thereof on file <br /> in his office. <br /> <br /> <br />
