A RESOLUTION COMMENDING ISAAC W. KING FOR HIS <br />S~VICV-S AS COUi~CiLI;=AN TO THE C%TY. OF PORTSi~OUTH. <br /> <br /> ~V~EREAS, Isaac W. King has served as CounciLman for <br />the past eight years, demonstrating a dedicated interest <br />in its problems; and <br /> <br /> I~HEREAS, this service required, during the period <br />from the year 1966 to June 30~ t974f many hours of study <br />and adjudication of matters in conference and special <br />meetings, in addition to the regular session of the City <br />Council; and <br /> <br /> Yfn~REAS, his devotion to the general welfare of the <br />City and all its people was manifest during his fruitful <br />term of office during a difficult period in our City's <br />history, due to necessity for economic restraint and in- <br />escapable demands for continued progress. <br /> <br /> THEREFOR~, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the valuable contri- <br />but. ions to the progress of our City made by Isaac W. <br />King be acknowledged with sincere gratitude and appre- <br />ciation; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution <br />be presented to Mr. Isaac W~ King, an~ that it be made a <br />pa~t of the permanent records of the City Council. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held on July 23, 1974. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Attest: City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
