A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY A PARCEL OF CITY-O~ED PROPERTY TO THE PORTS~OUTHREDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY (NAS~iLLE AVENUE TRACT). WHEREAS~ the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ Virginia, has determined that certain property hereinafter des- cribed~ !s surplus property and no longer required for City purposes; and WHEREAS~ the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority desires to purchase the said property on terms and conditions which are acceptable to the City. NOW~ THEREPORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of ~qe City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is authorized and directed to convey the property here- inafter described to the Portsmouth Redevelopment andHousing Authority and to execute all documents and complete all trans- actions incident to said conveyance. Beginning at the northwest intersection of Randolph Street and Nashville Avenue; thence along the west side of Nashville Avenue North 4020' East, 95.66' to a point; thence South 85°40~ East 40.0~' to an iron pin, said point being the point of begin- nlng for the parcel herein conveyed; thence from said point of beginning North 85~40' West 20Q.00' to an iron pin; thence North 4~20' East 190.00' to an iron pin in the line of ~[ount Olive Cemetery; thence along the line of Mcunt Olive Cemetery S82~27'4i" East 160o25' to an iron pin on the west side of Nashville Avenue where said street inter- sects the line of the ~[o~nt Olive Cemetery; thence continuing along the line of said cemetery South 79~22'!4'' East, 40.24' to an iron pin; thence South 4~20' West 176.63' to an iron pmn, said point being the Point of Beginning. Parcel contains 0.846 acres and is comprised of Lots 1-6, part of Lot 7, part of Lots 12-19, Block 57, Prentis Park, and a portion of ~ashville Avenue. Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- ginia~ at a meeting held June 25, 1974. Teste: City Clerk
