18 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~NAGER TO ACCEPT THE BID OF <br />WASHINGTON HEIGHTS PROPERTIES CORP. TO PURCHASE CERTAIN CITY- <br />OWNED PROPERTY (RESIDUAL PARCEL OF E~HURST LANE EXTENDED). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, has determined that certain property, hereinafter des- <br />cribed, is surplus property and no longer required for City <br />purposes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council has, by its resolution of Decem- <br />ber 18, 1973, authorized the City Manager to advertise this <br />property for sale upon certain terms and conditions; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager has caused the said property <br />to~ be advertised in accordance with the said authorization; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Washington Heights Proper%les Corp. has <br />submitted a bid in response to said advertisement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council finds, after due consideration, <br />that the bid of Washington Heights Properties Corp. complies <br />fully with the terms of the City's advertisement and that the <br />bid is the highest of all bids received and will permit the <br />disposition of the property on terms most favorable to the City. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is directed to accept the bid of Washington Heights <br />Properties Corp. for the hereinafter described property. <br /> <br /> Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, <br />situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, com- <br />prising 0.093 acres, more or less, bounded and de- <br />scribed as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at the existing north,-est corner of <br />the intersection of E!mhurst Lane Extension (for- <br />merly Spivey Street) and Ponderosa Street; thence <br />N-57°O0'O0'' East, 10.22 feet to the TRUE POINT OF <br />BEGINNING; thence N-57°00'OO" East, 199.78 feet <br />to a point; thence S-44~57'00'' East, 21.08 feet <br />to a point; thence S-57~13'43'' West,t99.95 feet <br />to a point; thence N-44~57'OO'' West, 20.27 feet <br />to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is author- <br />ized to execute all documents and complete all transactions inci- <br /> [ this property, subject to the terms and <br /> s~advertisement of this .... <br /> <br /> <br />
