A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR THE LEASE OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY. WHEREAS, Maryview Hospital Corporation has request- ed that the hereinafter described parcel of land be advertised for lease pursuant to Section 2.09(b) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth; and WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has no need for the land. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is authorized to advertise and receive bids for the lease of the following described property: Ail that certain lot, piece of parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, bounded and described as fol- lows: Beginning at the former northeast inter- section of High and West Streets; thence N 22°10' E a distance of 185.31 feet to a point; thence S 67"50' E a distance of 210.04 feet to a point along the western right of way of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Company; thence S 56°03' W a distance of 254.38 feet along the western right of way of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Company to a point on the north- ern right of way of High Street; thence N 47" 04' E a distance of 72.96 feet along the north- ern right of way of High Street to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING. It being that parcel desig- nated as parcel 4, tax plate 198 on the land re- cords of the City Assessor for the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia~ PROVIDEDr HOWEVER, that the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, reserves unto itself all that certain real property located within the fenced area surrounding the city's water towert and further that the City reserves unto itself a perpetual easement of ingress and egress to its water tower for maintenance and operation of said water tower and the area located within the City's fence.
