A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CITY OWNED PROPERTY TO THE PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY (SOUTHSIDE I AND II REDEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, BLOCK 9-52, PARCEL 3; BLOCK 15-53, PARCEL 76; BLOCK 41-14, PARCELS 32, 33, 34~ 35, 38, 37, 60, 61 AND 62; BLOCK 41-10, PARCEL 35). W~EREAS, t~he City of Portsmouth desires to convey to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority certain parcels of proper, ty which are hereinafter described; and ~-HER~AS~ the said parcels are no longe~ needed by the City of Portsmouth; and ~,q{ER~AS, the City of Portsmouth in conjuncti0n with redevelopment activities in Southside under the 1974 Community Development Program has scheduled for dedication to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority the hereinafter described parcels; and ?~EREAS, the conveyance of these parcelswill enable the City of Portsmouth to meet its maintenance of effort require- ment in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Community D~ve!opment Act; and ~THEREAS, Section 2.09 (c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth provides that the City may convey property to the Com- monwealth of Virginia, or any political subdivision thereof, with- out advertisemenu and without receiving bids; and W~ER~AS~ the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Au- thority is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the following described property to the Ports- mouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority: Parcel 1: All those certain lots of land, with their appurtenances, situate in the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia, and known, n~ber and desig- nated as Lots Nos. $, 7, 8, 9, 31 and 32 and parts of Lots Nos. 29 and 30, on the Plat of Harry L. Alexander duly recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, in Map Book 1, page 3~
