POP, SAID <br />PROJECT. <br /> <br /> ~{EREAS, it becomes necessary from time to time for <br />the City of Portsmouth to obtain permits from the Virginia De- <br />partment of Higleways to install, construct, reconstruct, main- <br />tain and operate certain public works along, across, over and <br />upon the highway syst~ of Virginia; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, exeense, damage or injury m . ~= <br /> -~ ~ .~ay ~ sustained <br />by_ the Com~lon%~ea±tn of Virginia growzng out of the g~ant_ng~ . ~ to <br />said City of Portsmouth by the Virgmni% Department of Highways <br />of said permits for the work afo=esala; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ one of the conditions of such permit or per- <br />mits is that the City of Portsmouth shall indemnify the Com=~on- <br />wealth of Virginia against all damages and injuries to the high- <br />ways and bridges and to property lawfully upon such highways. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth~ Virginia~ that the City Manager be, and <br />he hereby is directed to apply for a permit from the Virginia <br />Department of Highways to install a twelve (12'~) inch reinforced <br />concrete storm drain ~n the right of way of i-2~4 south of South <br />Street between Godwin Street and Des ~oines Avenu~ and to sign a <br />Done zn the form attached hereto in the amount of One Thousand <br />and 00/i00 ($i,000.)
