AND WHEREAS, the.City of Portsmouth desires-to convey to the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority certain parcels of property which are hereinafter described; and ~REAS, the said parcels are no longer needed by the City of Portsmouth; and WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth in conjunction with redevelopment activities in Southside under the 1974 Community Development Program has scheduled for dedication to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority the hereinafter described parcels; and WI~REAS, the conveyance of these parcels will enable the City of Portsmouth to meet its maintenance of effort re- quirement in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Community Development Act; and WHEREAS, Section 2.09(c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth provides that the City may convey property to the Commonwealth of Virginia, or any political subdivision thereof, without advertisement and without receiving bids: and WHEREAS, ~ahe Po==smoeth ~e~e~=!os~.~:~ ant ,~o'asl~ Au- uho~mty is a political subdivision of the Commo~we~l=~ of Virginia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is authorized to convey the following described property to the Ports- mouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority: PARCEL A Ail that certain lot~ piece or parcel of land, with its appurtenances, situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and knotty, numbered and designated as Lot 21, Block 1, on the plat of Oakden, which plat is recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesa- peake, Virginia, in Map Book 2, at page~, and being more particularly described as fo!!ows:~
