A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BiDS FOR CERTAIN CITY-OWNED PROPERTY (RESIDUAL PARCEL OF HYMAN STREET AND INDUSTRIAL ACCESS ROAD). WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth currently owns a parcel of land located on the north side of Industrial Access Road and Interstate 264; and WHEREAS, the parcel is a residual parcel of land which will not be utilized in the construction of Industrial Access Road or the improvements for Hyman Street; and WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has no further need for said parcel and it is, therefore, surplus property; and WHEREAS, the parcel of property is more fully described as follows: Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, bounded and de- scribed as follows: Beginning at a point on the northern margin o~ Industrial Access Road at a point where the northern margin of Industrial Access Road intersects the western boundary of the property now or formerly owned by Carl E. Bowers and Samuel Bisese, from said point; thence nort~ 44015'24'' west 156.36' along the western boundary of the property now or formerly owned by Carl E. Bowers and Samuel Bisese; thence south 13030'00'' east 136.33' to a point on the northern margin of Industrial Access Road; thence north 76° 30'00" east 31.38' to a point; thence con- tinuing along the northern margin of In- dustrial Access Road along a curve to the right having a radius of 600' an arc dis- tance of 48.62' -to the point and place of beginning. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to advertise and receive bids for the hereinabove described property on such terms and subject to such minimum bid restrictions and he may deem proper.
