2O A RESOLUTION APPROVING ~4ENDMENT NO. 8 TO THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE CRAWFORD URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT, Va. R-53. WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted August 1, 1967 approved a Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban Re- newal Projectv Va. R-53, Portsmouth, Virginia, which has been amended from time to time; and ¥~EREAS, there was presented to this body for con- sideration and approval a copy of an amended Redevelopment Plan for the project area, dated February, 1976, which plan consists of 15 pages and 2 exhibits; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Au- thority has made detailed studies of the feasibility of adding 12.4 acres of property to the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, Va. R-53 and has resolved that this action is viable and in the best interests of the renewal effort; and Wt~REASw said Amendment No. 8 has been carefully re- viewed and said Redevelopment Plan conforms to the general plan for the development of the City of Portsmouth as a whole; and WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council it is in the interest of the City and its inhabitants that said Amendment be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Amendment No. 8 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, Va~ R-53 having been duly re- viewed and considered~ it is hereby found: a. That the objectives of the Crawford Urban Re- newal Project, Va. R-53 Portsmouth, Virginia can be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendmentc b.
