17 A RESOLUTIOi~ APPROVING A~E~qDMENT NO. 1 TO THE SOUTHSIDE II RE- DEVELOP~4ENT PLAN FOR THE SOUTHSIDE II REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT. 'WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted December 17, 1974, approved a Redevelopment Plan for the Southside II Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia; and WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body, for consideration and approval, a copy of an amended Redevelopment Plan for the project area, dated February, 1976, which plan con- sists of 14 pages and 2 exhibits; and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 1 proposed to add certain pro- perty to the project area; and WHEREAS, said Amendment No. 1 has been carefully re- viewed and said Redevelopment Plan conforms to the general plan for-development of the City of Portsmouth as a whole; and W/4EREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and has resolved that this Amendment ~s in the best City's renewal effort; and Housing Authority interest of the ~EREAS, in the judgment of this Council it is in the interest of the City and its inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Amendment No. 1 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Southside II Redevelopment Project, having bee~ duly review- ed and considered~ it is hereby found: a~ That the objectives of the Southside II Re- development Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendment. b. That Amendment No. t for the project area co~- forms to the general plan for the City of Portsmouth as a whole. 2. That Amendment No. 1 to the Southside II Redevelop- ment Plan for the Southside II Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this meeting.
