122 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO CO~EY CITY O~NED PROPERTY TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING THORITY (214 FOURTH STREET). WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain here- inafter described real property located at 214 Fourth Street within the boundaries of The Southside III Redevelopment pro- ject7 and WHEREAS, the City no longer has need fo~ said pro- perty and the same is hereby declared surplus; and WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Portsmouth, Section 2.09(c) provides that the City may sell or convey property to the Commonwealth of Virginia or any political subdivision thereof without advertisement or receiving bids; and WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Au- thority is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the following described City owned property %o Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority for the consideration of $1242.10: Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, with the improvements thereon, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, bounded and described as follows: Beginning on the West side of Fourth Street 61 feet North of the northwest intersection of Fourth Street and Harrison Street; thence North along Fourth Street 30 feet; thence West and parallel with Harrison Street 113 feet; thence South and parallel with Fourth Street 30 feet; thence East 113 feet to the point of beginning. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute such deeds and other docu- ments as may be necessary to complete this transaction.
