TO <br />PURCHASE CITY-OWNED PROPERTY ON GREE~$OOD DRIVE AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A DEED FOR THE TRANSFER THEREOF. <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth <br />authorized the.City Manager to advertise and receive bids <br />for the hereinafter described property located o~ Greenwood <br />Drive in the City of Portsmouth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Freddie R. Bowen, Jr., 3704 Greenwood <br />Drive, Portsmouth, Virginia has presented the highest bid <br />of Two Hundred Fifty and O0/t00 ($250.00) Dollars for the <br />hereinafter described property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said bid of Two Hundred Fifty and O0/100 <br />($250.00) Dollars is considered to be an adequate price for <br />the hereinafter described property. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEP~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the bid of Freddie R. <br />Bowen, Jr. to purchase the hereinafter described property <br />located on Greenwood Drive, Portsmouth, Virginia for Two <br />Hundred Fifty and 00/t00 ($250.00) Dollars be hereby accepted. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, <br />and he hereby is, authorized to execute such deeds and other <br />documents as may be necessary to complete the transfer of <br />the following described property: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain piece or parcel of <br />land, situate, lying and being mn the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, bounded and de- <br />scribed as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point on the northern <br />margin of Greenwood Drive, said point being <br />the point at which the line dividing the <br />property now or formerly owned by Fred Bowen <br />and the property described herein owned by <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, intersects <br />the northern margin of Greenwood Drive; thence <br />North 7050'50'` West along the aforesaid line <br />dividing the property of Bowen and the pro- <br />perty of the City of Portsmouth 75.01 feet <br />to a point; thence South 83°13' East 20.00 <br />feet to a point; thence South 7o50'50" East <br />75.O1 feet to a point on the northern margin <br />of Greenwood Drive; thence South 89"39' West <br />20.00 feet along %he northern mar~in of <br /> <br /> <br />
