A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROJECTS AND THE PRIORITY FOR THE <br />PROJECTS TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AD- <br />FiINISTRATION FOR FUNDING UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS LEGISLATION. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmout3a, Virginia has <br />prepared an application for federal funding of certain pro- <br />jects pursuant to the Local Public Works Act; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ <br />Virginia, has reviewed said application, including the <br />understandings and assurances contained therein. <br /> <br /> NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council <br />of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia that Council approves <br />the following projects and sets out their priority in <br />numerical sequence to be submitted to the Economic Develop- <br />ment Administration for funding under the Public Works <br />L~gislation. <br /> <br /> Core-City Area Of Norfolk And Portsmouth Which <br />Exceeds The National Unemployment Rate of Approximately 7.6%. <br /> <br /> _Project <br /> <br /> (1) Curb, gutters and street improvements: Deep <br />Creek Boulevard from Des Moines Avenue to Wright Avenuef <br />Brighton, North Truxtun, Syre Road, Northside; <br /> <br /> (2) Renovation and Improvements for Portsmouth <br />~ultural Center; <br /> <br /> (3) Renovation of Harry Hunt Jr. High School; <br /> <br /> (4) Improvements for Streets and Drainage facilities in <br />Cradock~ <br /> <br /> City-Wide Unemployment Rate Which Exceeds 6-1/2%. <br /> pr~je'ct <br /> <br /> (1) Drainage Improvements, Deep Creek Boulevard to <br />George Washington Highway~ <br /> <br /> (2) Drainage Improvements, Cavalier Manor; <br /> <br /> (3) Drainage Improvements, Elliott Avenue and Beacon <br /> <br />Road; <br /> <br />(4) Improvements to Godwin Street Pump Station; <br /> <br /> <br />
