76 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO GRANT AN EASEMENT <br />ACROSS LAKE MEADE AND OTHER PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE CITY OF <br />SUFFOLK UPON CERTAIN CONDITION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO HAVE AN INDEPENDEN~ APPRAISAL OF SUCH PROPERTY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ the City of Suffolk has requested that it be <br />granted an easement on property owned by the City of Portsmouth <br />including Lake Meade for the pmrpose of laying a sixteen <br />(16) inch waver main. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Countil of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that it authorizes the granting <br />of an easement on property owned by the City ~f Portsmouth <br />including Lake Meade to the C~ty of Suffolk upon condition <br />that the City Manager place in such easement all necessary <br />provisions to protect the City of Portsmouth's water supply <br />facilities. <br /> <br /> IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized <br />to seek to have an independent appraisal of such property <br />and to charge for the easement the fair market value and the <br />cost to the City of Portsmouth for making of such appraisal. <br /> <br /> Adopted ky the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, at a meeting held September 14, 1976. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
