A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH'S HIGHEST <br />HIGHWAY PRIORITY PROJECTS FOR STATE-CITY PARTICIPATION AND <br />COF~ITTING THE CITY TO PAY ITS 15% SHARE OF THE COSTS OF <br />SUCH PROJECT. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State has requested the City to de- <br />signate the next two highest highway priority projects to <br />be designed and constructed when funds become available; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Victory Boulevard to Portsmouth <br />Boulevard extension was dropped from the City's priority <br />list due to the excelleration in cost of the Western Free%~ay; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Western Freeway Bridge and Western <br />~reeway's two (2) lanes West to the City of Suffolk are under <br />design and construction; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the two (2) highest priorities of the City <br />of Portsmouth are: <br /> <br /> (1) Extension of Victory Boulevard to Portsmouth <br />Boulevard; and <br /> <br /> (2) Extensmon of Western Freeway from the new <br />bridge approach eastward to the mid-town tunnel. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the two (2) highest <br />highway priority projects for State-City participation are: <br /> <br /> (1) Extension of Victory Boulevard to Portsmouth <br />Boulevard; and <br /> <br /> (2) Extension of the Western Freeway from the ne%~ <br />bridge approach eastward to the mid-town tunnel. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City commits its <br />15% share to cost of such priorities. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held August 24, 1976. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
