A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT FOR OPERATING A CHILD CAtLE CENTER ON THE WEST SIDE OF CHARLESTON AVENUE BET~EN JEFFERSON STREET AND WATTS AVENUE. (UP-76-6) WHEREAS, Beulah Eason and Mr. & Mrs. Alfonze Chisholm have made an application pursuant to Section 40-75[b) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done all things required to be done in connection with said application, and the Planning Commission has recommended the granting of said use permit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: (a) That the use for which the use permit herein- after described as sought (1) will not adversely affect the health or safety of persons residing or working in the neigh- borhood of the proposed use, (2) will not be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to property or improvements to the neighborhood, and (3) will be in accord with the pur- poses of the Zoning Chapter of the City Code. (b) The City of Portsmouth is hereby granting a use permit pursuant to Section 40-75(b) of the City Code to operate a Child Care Center on property described as follows: Beginning on the west side of Charles- ton Avenue approximately 180 feet south of the southwest corner of Jefferson Street and Charleston Avenue; thence west approximately 100 feet to a rear lot line; thence south approximately 50 feet to a side lot line~ thence east approximately 100 feet along said line to the west right-of-way line of Charleston Ave- nue; thence north along said right-of-way approximately 50 feet to the point of origin.
