A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~.CANAGER TO ADVERTISE AND <br />RECEIVE BIDS FOR CERTAIN CITY-O~,~NED PROPERTY (701 COLUMBIA STREET) . <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth presently owns a parcel <br />of property located at 701 Columbia Street, more particularly <br />described as follows: <br /> <br /> Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel of <br />land, with the buildings and improvements there- <br />on, situater lying and being in the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, more particularly described as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at the southwest intersection <br />of Green Street and Columbia Street (formerly <br />Crab Street); thence running south along the <br />west right-of-way of Green Street 113 feet, <br />more or less, to the line of property now <br />or formerly owned by John Emmerson; thence <br />running west and parallel with Columbia Street <br />180 feet to a point; thence running north and <br />parallel with Green Street 113 feet to a point <br />on the southern margin of Columbia Street; thence <br />east along the southern margin of Columbia Street <br />180 feet to the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the <br />City of Portsmouth and <br />property. <br /> <br />said land is no longer needed by the <br />it is, therefore, declared to be surplus <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT P~SOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to advertise and receive bids for the <br />hereinabove described property on such terms and subject to such <br />minimum bid restrictions as he may deed proper. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouthr Virginia, <br />meeting held July 27, 1976. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
