W~SAS, by resolutic~ adopted by the Council of the City of Ports- mouth on May 31, 1977, tb~ City Manager advertised and received bids for the sale or exchange of certain City-owned property in the City of Suffolk, Virginia; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Welch, have proposed that the hereinafter- described City-owned property be exchanged for property owned by Mr. and Mrs. Welch adjacent to the City of Portsmouth pu~p station on Princeton Road in Suffolk, Virginia; and ~5~REAS, the proposed exchange of p~uperty wo,,l~ provide the City with additional prop~ which could be used in cc~nection with the activities of the Public Utilities Dep~h~nt currently located on Princeton Road in Suffolk, Virg~r~ia. lqOW, .T}~EF~, BE IT RESOLVED. by the Council of the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to accept the proposal for the exchange of certain hereinafter-described City-owned property for property owned by Mr. and Mrs. M. R., Welch. The property to be exchanged is described as follows: All that certain piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the City of Suffolk, Virginia, bounded and described as follows: Beginn/ng at a point on the west side of Princeton Road, said point being the point at which .the line di- viding the property owned by the City of Portsmouth and the property now or. fo~merty owned by ,M. R. Welch inter- sects the west bouD~y of Princeton Road; thence N72° 27'05" west, 27.32- feet to the True Point of Beginn~; thence frcm said true point of t~=ginning S36~48'41"~ west 21.18 feet to a point; thence N72°17'O5" west 52.68 feet to a point; thence N17~49'20" east 20.0 feet to a point; thence S72~27'O5, east 59.57 feet to the .true point of begim_n_4~g. Said parcel containing 1,116.71 square feet as shown on that certain plat entitled, ,Plat Showing 20' Utility Easement Ac~.~ived In Suffolk, .Virginia~ Frcm M. R. We~ch By The City Of Port~m~ath", dated April 18, 1977, prepared by the Depa~huent of Engineer'~ng, City of Portsmouth, Virginia, attached hereto. BE IT ~ ~ESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to c~lete all transactions, execute all documents incident to such conveyance.
