A RESOLUTION GRANTING APPROVAL FOR A GROUP HOUSING PROJECT PUR- ~SUANT TO SECTION 40-55 OF THE CODE OF Tt{E CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, 1973, AS AMENDED, SAID PROJECT BEING KNO~ AS NEW TOT~E APART- ME~TS AND DESIGNATED AS GHP-77-1R. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application pursuant to Section 40-55 of %he Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, as amended, for the granting and approval for a group housing project known as New Towne Apart- ments, GHP-1R; and WHEREAS, the application for the same has been determined by the Planning Cor~mission to have met the requirements of Section 40-55; and f~HEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed such applica- tion and site plans submitted therewith and has recommended approval of said application; and WHEREAS, the developer has been informed that approval of a group housing project pursuant to said Section 40-55 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth grants only an exemption from certain dimensional requirements for resiSences as stated in said Section 40-55 and does not constitute a waiver of any other requirements embodied in the subdivision Ordinance, the Zoning Ordinance, the Code of the City of Portsmouth and any other applicable state or federal laws; and WHEREAS, the developer is aware that building permits and/or any other required permit will be issued only upon cSmpliance with ordinance or laws applicable thereto. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the certain group housing project known as New Towne Apartments and designated as GHP-77-1R and more speci- fically shov~ on a plat entitled, "Southside I Housing of Last Re- sort", dated June 1977, prepared by Dan Griffin A~, Ltd. and at- tached hereto and made a part hereof is hereby granted approval. Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held June 28, 1977. Teste: City Clerk
