A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING THE FOLLOWING <br />STREET: A PORTION OF FREEDOM AVENUE LOCATED BETWEEN. CAVALIER <br />BOULEVAi~D ON THE WEST AND VIKING STREET ON THE EAST. (S-77-1). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ the City of Portsmouth has made application <br />to vacate and close the hereinafter described portion of a <br />certain streets and it appearing that notice was duly posted <br />January 4, 1977, on the bulletin board of the Circuit Court of <br />the City of Portsmoutht the bulletin board of the City Council <br />Chamber of the City of Portsmouth and the bulletin board of <br />the General District Court, Civil Division of the City of Ports- <br />mouth~ Virginia° <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Frank N. Bi lisoiy, Reverend <br />J. R. Wilkerson, A. N. Kendrick, R. Irvine Smith, and H. L. <br />Davis be appointed viewers to view the hereinafter described <br />portions of such street and to report to this Council in writ- <br />ing whether in their opinion, any and if any, what inconvenience <br />would result in vacating and closing the following: <br /> <br />FREEDOM AVENUE <br /> <br /> Beginning at the northeast corner of Cava- <br />lier Boulevard aqd Freedom Avenue~ thence run- <br />ning along Freedom Avenue in an easterly di- <br />rection 500 feet to a point; thence running <br />along Viking Street in a southerly direction <br />60 feet to a point; thence running along Free- <br />dom Avenue in a westerly direction 514.67 feet <br />to a point; thence running along Cavalier Boule- <br />yard in a northerly direction 60 feet to the <br />point of beginning. <br /> <br /> Said portion to be closed, also described <br />as all that/certain piece, parcel of land or <br />street lying and being in the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, known as Freedom Avenue lo- <br />cated between Cavalier Boulevard on the West <br />and Viking Street on the E~st. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of PortsmouSh, Vir- <br />ginia, at a meeting held January 25, 1977. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
