A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING THE FOLLOWING STREET: A PORTION OF FREEDOM AVENUE LOCATED BETWEEN. CAVALIER BOULEVAi~D ON THE WEST AND VIKING STREET ON THE EAST. (S-77-1). WHEREAS~ the City of Portsmouth has made application to vacate and close the hereinafter described portion of a certain streets and it appearing that notice was duly posted January 4, 1977, on the bulletin board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmoutht the bulletin board of the City Council Chamber of the City of Portsmouth and the bulletin board of the General District Court, Civil Division of the City of Ports- mouth~ Virginia° NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Frank N. Bi lisoiy, Reverend J. R. Wilkerson, A. N. Kendrick, R. Irvine Smith, and H. L. Davis be appointed viewers to view the hereinafter described portions of such street and to report to this Council in writ- ing whether in their opinion, any and if any, what inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the following: FREEDOM AVENUE Beginning at the northeast corner of Cava- lier Boulevard aqd Freedom Avenue~ thence run- ning along Freedom Avenue in an easterly di- rection 500 feet to a point; thence running along Viking Street in a southerly direction 60 feet to a point; thence running along Free- dom Avenue in a westerly direction 514.67 feet to a point; thence running along Cavalier Boule- yard in a northerly direction 60 feet to the point of beginning. Said portion to be closed, also described as all that/certain piece, parcel of land or street lying and being in the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia, known as Freedom Avenue lo- cated between Cavalier Boulevard on the West and Viking Street on the E~st.
