A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE BID OF WASHINGTON HEIGHTS PROPERTIES CORPORATION TO PURCHASE CERTAIN CITY-OWNED PROPERTY (INDUSTRIAL ACCESS ROAD ROUTE 9999). WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- ginia, has determined that certain property, hereinafter des- cribed, is surplus property and no longer required for City purposes; and WHEREAS, the Council has, by its resolution of March 22, 1977, authorized the City Manager to advertise this pro- perty for sale upon certain terms and conditions; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has caused the said property to be advertised in accordance with the said authorization; and WHEREAS, Washington Heights Properties Corporation has submitted a bid in response to the said advertisement; and WHEREAS, the Council finds, after due consideration, that the bid of Washington Heights Properties Corporation com- plies fully with the terms of the City advertisement and that the bid is such as to permit favorable use of the property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, directed to accept the bid of Washington Heights Pro- perties Corporation for the hereinafter described property. PARCEL I Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, with the improvements thereon~ situate, ly- ing and being in the City of Portsmouth, Vir- ginia, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point on the western right of way of Route 9999 (Industrial Access Road) ~ the same being 30 feet right of Station 19 plus 87.07 as shown on Sheet No. 4 of the Vir- ginia Department of Highways & Transportations plans for Project 9999-124-101, C-50i which are on file in the City Engineer's Office of the City of Portsmouth; thence N56~25,14,, west i46.67 feet to a point; thence S16o24,53- west 159.85 feet to a point; thence S37O17,04- west 17.60 feet to a point on the western right of
