A RESOLUTION tlWIX)RSING THE SOLID WASTE RESOURCES RECOVERY IMP/2iVIENT_nL. ION <br />PLAN. <br /> <br /> I~ERF2~S, the City of Ports~Duth, through its membership in the <br />Southeastern Virginia Rlanning District Commission, participated in a <br />series of regional studies to find a cost effective and environmentally <br />sound solution to the solid %taste problem; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these studies recc~end the implementation of a Regional <br />Resource Recovery Progra~m; and <br /> <br /> W~t~IAS, an indication of support and willingness to proceed with <br />the design phase to a point where a final decision to implement can ~e <br />made o <br /> <br /> NE~, RY~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that it generally agrees with the conclusions an~ <br />reccn~r~adatious presented in the March t9, 1977, Resource Recovery <br />/mplementation Plan prepared for its m~mber local governments by the <br />Southeastern Virg/nia Planning District Cc~m~lssion, and indicates its <br />s~port and willingness to underwrite its proportional share (not to <br />exceed $326,000.) of a proposed $2~300,000. bond anticipation note, in <br />the eye, ut the project is not constructed; provided that all parties <br />cc~m~3.t to their proportional share as stated on page 65 of said <br />Resource 'Discovery /ntore~ntation Plan. <br /> <br /> ~dopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a <br />meeting held April 26, t977. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
