A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TOCONVEY CITY-OWNED PROPERTY TO THE PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY (1139 HAMILTON AVEN~E, MOUNT ~LEP~ON PROJECT, BLOCK 160, PARCEL 73). WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns a certain here- inafter described parcel of property which is no longer needed by the City of Portsmouth and is hereby, declared to be surplus; and ' hereby ail doc~.ents incident to such conveyance. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing Authority desires to purchase the said property for the sum of Five Thou- sand, Five Hundred and 00/100 ($5,500.) Dollars; and WHEREAS, U2.09(c) of the Charter of the City of Ports- mouth provides that the City may convey property to the Common- wealth of Virginia or any political subdivision thereof, without advertisement and without receiving bids; and WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing Authority is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia° NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the f0!lowin described property to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority: All those certain lots, pieces or parcels of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, known, numbered and designated as Lots 12 and 13 as shown on the plat of Francis S. Richardsons, Subdivision of Block K of the Bishop Tract, which plat is recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book 3, page 90. Save and except that por- tion of said lots lying within the right of way of London Boulevard (State Route No. 58) as shown on Sheet 6 of the plans of Project 005~-124-102 R/W 201 in the Department of Public Works of the City of Portsmouth, trglnla. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he is, authorized to complete all transactions and to execute Adopted by t~= Council of the City of Portsmouth, ginia, at a meeting held April 26, 1977.
