117 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING JANUARY 15, 1978 AS THE MARTIN LUTHER <br />KING, JRo DAY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the late Martin Luther King, Jr. is a symbol of <br />freedom to many of our citizens; and <br /> WHEREAS, the citizens of this City wish to commemorate a <br />day of tribute to the memory of the said recipient of the Nobel <br />Peace Prize. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that January 15~ 1978 is designated <br />as the Martin Luther King.
