lO6 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE cITY MANAGER TO C~NVEY CITY-OWNED PROP~ TO THE PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY (MT. HERF/DN Cf~- VATION AND REDEVEIDPMEbTD P~D3EL~, LONDON BOULEVARD RESIDUE PA~'~:~.q). WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth desires to convey to Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority certain parcels of property whic2u ~re hereinafter described; and ~, the said parcel is no longer needed by the City of Ports- mouth; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelo .p~n. ~t And Housing Auth?rity ~.de_s~es this land to be incorporated into an adjoining ~raCt of land owned by said Authority in the Mt. Henmon COnServation And Redevelopment Project; and WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth will be compensated for this pro- perry by the payment of $1,340.00; and WHEREAS, Section 2.09(c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmout2~ provides that the City may convey property to the Ccrmmonwealth of V/-~gd-nia or any political subdivision thereof, without advertisement and without receiving bids; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority is a political subdivision of the Cc~uonwealth of Virginia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Po=~+~s- mouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the follo%~3_ng described property to the Port~routh P~develo~£ent And Housing Authority: All that certain piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, bounded and described as follows: BegirkuJ~g at the southwestern intersection of Florida Avenue smd London Boulevard; thence along the southern boundary of London Boulevard S84~08'50'' west 225.10' to a point; thence continuing along the sout~heun boundary of London BouleVard along a curve to the left having a radius of 472.98', anarc distance of 240.91' to a point being marked by a Virginia DepOt of High- ways monument, said point being the True Point of Begs; thence south 03049' 19" east 57.92" to a point marked by a Virginia Department of Highways mor~ment; thence south 83°58'20" ~est 67.11' to a point on the .southern boundary of London Boulevard marked by a Virginia DepOt of Highways monu~aent; thence along the southern boundary of London Boulevard in a northeasterly direction to the True PoLnt of Beginning.
