62 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING THE FOLLOWING: A PORTION OF A 12-1/2 FOOT ALLEY ON THE NORTH SIDE OF FRANKLIN AVENUE. WHEREAS, Robert C. and Ruth Jacobs and others have made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter- described portion of a certain alley, and it appearing that notice of application and request for the appointment of viewers was duly posted August 23~ 1978, on the bulletin board of the General District Court, Civil Division, of the City of Ports- mouth, the~ulletin board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, and the bulletin board of the City Hall of the City of Portsmouth.' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that_~Frank N. Bilisoly, C. E. Ellis, Linon Uann, A. N. Kendrick, James A. Linehan, be appointed viewers and BeIvin W. Blackman be appointed an alternate viewer in the event one'of the preceding viewers fail to participate, said viewe~s:to view the hereinafter-described portion of such alley and to report to this Council in writing; whether in their opin±on~any~ and if any, what inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the following: 1'2-'1/2 FOOT ALLEY That certain 12-1/2 foot alley extend- ing from the north side of Franklin Avenue to the south side of Edison Avenue as shown on the pl.at of Highland Park recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, in Map Book 16, at page 61. The said alley being further described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at a point on the north side of Franklin Avenue 110 feet east of the north- east intersection of Franklin Avenue and Deep -Creek Boulevard and running thence in a north- · erly direction to the south side of Edison Avenue at a point 180 feet east of the south · east intersection of Edison Avenue 'in Deep 'Creek Boulevard, said property is bounded on theeast by lots 25 ~hrough 30 inclusive and on-the east by lots 23 and 24 in Block E on the aforementioned plat.
