52 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING THE FOLLOWING STREET: A PORTION OF DOUGLAS AVENUE. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter-described portion of a certain street, and it appearing that Notice of Application and request for the · · appcintraent of viewers was duly posted June 15, 1978, on the bulletin board of the General District Court, Civil Division, of the City of Portsmouth, the bulletin board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, and the bulletin board of · the City Hall of the City of Portsmouth. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Frank N. Bilisoly, John H. Griffin, Charles R. Hudgins, R. Irvin Smith, A. N. Kendrick be appointed viewers and Richard D. Ottavio be appointed an alternate viewer in the event one of the preceding viewers fail to participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter described portion of such street and to report to this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, ~nd if any, what inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the follow- ing: DOUGLAS AVENUE Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, lying and being in the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia, and comprising that portion of Douglas Avenue between London Boulevard and Queen Street as more particularly shown on a plat entitled: "Plat Showing Portion of Douglas Avenue To Be Closed, Portsmouth, Virginia, for Mt. Hermon Conservation & Redevelopment Project, VA. R-69", prepared by E. Stuart Ball & Associates, Ltd., Survey- i~g-Engineering, Portsmouth, Virginia, dated April 18, 1978, a copy of which is attached hereto. -~] Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,- at~a ~eeting held August 8, 1978.
