A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE BID <br />OF E. L. BARCLAY TO PURCHASE CERTAIN CITY-OWNED PROPERTY <br />(914 HIGH STREET). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />has determined that certain property, hereinafter described <br />is no longer required for City purposes and is surplus property; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council has, by its Resolution of May 9, 1978, <br />authorized the City Manager to advertise this property for sale <br />upon certain terms and conditions; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the 'City Manager has caused the-said property to <br />be advertised in accordance with said authorization and the <br />Code of the City of Portsmouth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, E. L. Barclay has submitted a bid in response to <br />said advertisement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the 'Council finds, after due consideration, that <br />the bid of E. D. Barclay complies fully with 'the terms of the <br />City's advertisement and that the bid is the highest bid received <br />and will permit the 'disposition of the property on terms most <br />favorable to the City; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE. IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of.Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby <br />is, directed to'accept the bid of E. L; Barclay for the property <br />described as 914 High Street. .~ <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he <br />hereby is, authorized to'execute all documents and complete all <br />transactions incident to the conveyance of this property, sub- <br />ject to the terms and conditions of the City's advertisement of <br />this property. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held June 27., 1978. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
