A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING OF THE FOLLOWING STREET: A PORTION OF A 15-FOOT ALLEY ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF COM~ERCE STREET. WHEREAS, Citizens Trust B~nk and Florence Mary Maupin, Admtnistrator~ CTA and Trustees under the Will of Florence B. Maup~n, deceased, have made application to vacate~ close and d~scont~nue the here±halter described portions of a 15-foot alley on the south side of Con~uerce Street, and it appearing that notice of application and request for appointment of vie%~ers was duly posted June 7~ 1979~ on the bulletin board of We C±ty Hall Building of the City of Portsmouth, the bulle- tin board of the General District Court (Civil Division) and the b~lletin board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth. NOW, THEREFORE~ BE iT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Por%'smouth, ~irginia, that Frank N. Bilisoly, Louis J. Leitner, Rev. H. G~ Hairston, Ja~ues H. Griffin and James L. Linehan be appointed viewers and James Moss be appointed an alternate viewer in the event one of the preceding viewers fails to participate, said ~iewers to view the hereinafter described portion of the said alley and to report to this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result in the vacating and closing of the following: Ail that.portion of an alley 15' in width, situate in the City of Portsmouth, as shown on a block on the plat of Port Norfolk Land Company recorded in ~e Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the Cit~ of Oh~saDeake, Virginia, in MaD Book 4, Page 70 and 7~, said alley extendin~ in a southerly direction from the southern line of Cormuerce Street (formerly Seventh Street), and being parallel to and between Virginia Avenue and Chautauqua Avenue, to the n~rthern line of a parcel of land conveyed to Virginia Electric and Power Company be Deed of Florence B~ Maupin, dated May t3~ 1966, recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, in Deed Book 471, Page 255.
